Teen Community Service Day

The Teen's Community Service Day was in support of Reston Interfaith's Emergency Food Pantry and Embry Rucker Shelter, a Reston area homeless shelter.

Divided into groups, the CFPNI Teens led a food and fund drive in which they raised over $300 in financial donations and gathered more than 3 car loads of groceries.

The CFPNI Teens took the groceries and stocked the emergency food pantry shelves. Another group of CFPNI Teens took the money and used it to purchase food from which they made more than 70 bagged lunches as well as shephard's pie, salad and brownies.

A final group of the CFPNI Teens served the shepard's pie dinner to the residents at the shelter that evening. It was an empowering experience for several of the teens.
