Capitol Hill
The Day on Capitol Hill began for the teens at the Northern Ireland Bureau where they met with Director Tim Losty for an engaging talk and a pizza lunch.

A short Metro ride to Capitol Hill for a series of talks by many political representatives. The teens found Mr. Michael Gallagher, [pictured right], of the State Department to be very approachable as he encouraged the teens to ask him heartfelt questions about America.

Congressman Donald Payne(D-NJ) shared with the teens his personal experiences of the Civil Rights movement and Jordan Forbes, from the office of Congressman Tom Davis(R-VA) encouraged the teens to know they can make a difference as your adults.

Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY), [pictured left], inspired the teens with her frank discussion on working towards what you believe in. Congressman Tom Davis(R-VA) encouraged the teens to know they can make a difference as young adults.

In between votes on the Senate floor, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton(D-NY) [pictured right] met with the teens and expressed the love and admiration she and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, have for Northern Ireland.

The tireless efforts of Rosemay O'Neill, CFPNI Board Member, made the Day on Capitol Hill possible for the CFPNI teens.
